Pastor Steve DeMar received Christ early in his life. At an early age he sensed God’s call to be a pastor in a church planting ministry. To this end he studied and served through the ministry training program at Salem Bible Church (Salem, OH), adapted from the curricula of Grace Theological and Dallas Theological Seminaries. In 2001, Steve graduated with an engineering degree from Youngstown State University, where he met his wife, Dorean. In 2003 he accepted a job in the Butler area as a hydraulic systems engineer. He continued to serve at Salem Bible Church as an elder and was ordained in 2007. During this time, and through years of evangelism in the Butler area, Steve and his wife felt a deep burden for Butler, and God’s distinct leading to move there to plant a Bible church. In 2006 they moved to Butler, and a small Bible Class began. Today, Pastor Steve, along with his wife and their four children, continue to live and serve in Butler. Steve serves as pastor of the continuing church plant, Butler Bible Church, while still working full time as an engineer. He trusts that all things are possible to Him that “is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20).
